A violent confrontation over an online mobile game escalated into a homicide in the Santacruz area of Mumbai on Saturday night, police said. The incident occurred at about 1:30 a.m. on the steps of St. Rock Church in the Kalina neighbourhood.
The dispute began when Arbez Shah phoned Dilshad Shah’s brother, Salman Faruk Shah, accusing the two men of using Salman’s Facebook ID to play mobile games. The quarrel quickly turned physical, and Arbez allegedly attacked Dilshad with a knife.
Following a complaint filed by Salman, police registered a case under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for an attempt to murder. The complaint cited the knife attack that left Dilshad Shah with a throat wound.
Arbez Shah, Musahid Vakil Ahmed Khan and Kausar Ali Jamil Shah were arrested by Vakola Police. Investigators are continuing their inquiry into the incident and the circumstances surrounding the fatal assault.
