Telugu Desam Party State president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao announced that the focus will be on developing Gajuwaka as a key centre for the IT, industrial and tourism sectors. The statement was made during a meeting with the district administration.
On Saturday, Mr. Rao, together with District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore and other revenue officials, conducted a field inspection of nearly 800 acres at Yarada. The inspection aimed to assess the land’s potential for IT, knowledge- and technology‑driven industries, as well as tourism development. The MLA examined the extent and status of the land, existing infrastructure, and the development prospects of the Yarada hill region.
He directed officials to evaluate the feasibility of turning the scenic location into a hub for IT companies, Global Capability Centres, startups and other knowledge‑driven enterprises. Rao highlighted that expanding the IT sector could generate substantial employment and livelihood opportunities for local youth. He also proposed a bridge connecting the Sagaradurga Temple at Yarada with Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in One Town, which would improve connectivity and allow residents to reach the main city in 15 to 20 minutes.
The MLA noted that the coalition government, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, is working to position Andhra Pradesh as an investment‑friendly destination. Referring to IT Minister Nara Lokesh’s efforts to attract investments in IT, electronics and technology, Rao said the opportunities in Gajuwaka should be effectively leveraged. He urged officials to prepare proposals after a comprehensive assessment of infrastructure, connectivity and other requirements for the integrated development of the IT and tourism sectors, which would further boost Visakhapatnam’s economic growth and create employment for local youth.
