A special musical tribute will be held in Hubballi on September 27 to mark the first death anniversary of renowned sitar exponent Pandit Shrinivas Joshi.
The programme, organised jointly by Sanskar Bharati, Kshamata, Mangal Bharati, Karnatak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and Symphony, will take place at the KCCI Hall at J.C. Nagar in Hubballi at 5.30 p.m.
Three young artists will perform vocal and instrumental renditions in tribute. Flautist Madhu Kulkarni, a disciple of noted flautist Pravin Godkhindi, Bengaluru‑based vocalist Sangeeta Hegde, and sitarist Vijay Gonahalu, a disciple of Padma Bhushan awardee Pandit Arvind Parikh, will be joined by tabla players Prasad Madiwalar and Shamanth Desai, and harmonium player Vinod Patil.
According to the organisers, the event aims to commemorate Joshi’s contribution to music and give listeners an opportunity to remember the artist through live performances. Entry is free.
