On 6 August, the Indigenous Faith & Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) donated Rs 3,16,350 to the East Siang district administration to aid relief and rehabilitation after recent flash floods. The contribution was presented to Deputy Commissioner Sonalika Jiwani by a delegation from IFCSAP, led by youth wing vice president Olom Perme.
The delegation also included IFCSAP East Siang unit president Omir Tatin, women’s wing president Omem Tamuk Gao, and general secretary Taken Payum. They delivered the cheque and expressed solidarity with the families affected by the disaster.
The amount was raised collectively by several IFCSAP units: East Siang (Rs 25,000), Upper Siang (Rs 34,850), Dibang Valley (Rs 51,000), Lohit (Rs 15,500), Namsai (Rs 1,20,000), Longding (Rs 20,000), and the central office (Rs 50,000). This unified effort underscored the organisation’s commitment to supporting flood‑affected households.
In remarks at the ceremony, IFCSAP representatives reaffirmed their dedication to community welfare and praised the district administration’s relief work. Deputy Commissioner Jiwani thanked the society for its humanitarian gesture, noting that such collective contributions strengthen relief initiatives and help families rebuild their lives after the disaster.
