Corteva Agriscience, an American agriculture company, organized a demonstration in Nellore that brought together farmers, agronomists, scientists and local community leaders to showcase the performance of its granular insecticide for rice, Mavilon.
During the event, farmers observed stronger crop stands, healthier tillers, improved grain filling and fields that remained protected during some of the crop’s most critical growth stages. The demonstration highlighted how the product can safeguard crops from damaging pests without the need for repeated spray applications.
The company explained that, unlike conventional approaches where farmers react after pests appear, Mavilon is designed for a one‑time application 30‑35 days after transplanting. This timing allows growers to stay ahead of the threat and protect crop potential before significant damage occurs.
Mavilon’s long‑lasting protection is especially valuable as Brown Planthopper outbreaks intensify and labour constraints make timely spraying more difficult. Rice growers are turning to convenient, durable solutions that deliver consistent protection with less operational complexity, the company added.
