40 lakh pattadar passbooks given to farmers in A.P., 51 lakh more in the pipeline, says CM

The Andhra Pradesh government has distributed 40.58 lakh pattadar passbooks to farmers and plans to issue an additional 51 lakh through monthly targets, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu said.

During a visit to Narsingula village in Jarugumalli mandal, Prakasam district, the CM handed out passbooks to 1,301 farmers across eight villages in four mandals under the “Mee Bhumi‑Mee Hakku” programme, which issues secure passbooks with the state emblem and enhanced security features following Resurvey 2.0.

Naidu criticized the previous YSRCP administration, alleging that land security had deteriorated during its 2019‑24 tenure, with encroachments, irregularities and disputes undermining the revenue system. He cited the Land Titling Act as a source of uncertainty and noted that the NDA government repealed it, removing 16.48 lakh acres from the 22A prohibited properties list.

He said disputes involving about 41,000 acres in Kangundi, Amalapuram and Shettipalli were resolved. The CM also announced an action plan to transform Prakasam and Rayalaseema districts into world‑class horticulture hubs, with ₹1,100 crore earmarked for rural infrastructure under the “Palle Panduga” programme.

Housing rights have been granted to 60,000 people in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Mangalagiri, with an estimated market value of ₹52,000 crore. The foundation stone for three lakh houses has been laid, and construction of six lakh houses is planned.

The CM announced the construction of the Pothula Chenchayya‑Paleru Reservoir, costing ₹1,666.40 crore and expected to be completed in two years. It will irrigate 9,500 acres and supply drinking water to 35,000 people in 15 villages. He also laid the foundation for the Vemurupadu road and a bridge across the Paleru River, costing ₹928 crore, and assured completion of the second phase of the Veligonda project to provide irrigation and drinking water statewide.
