The construction of queue lines for the upcoming Dasara Sharannavaratri celebrations at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam on Indrakeeladri began on Sunday, marked by a series of traditional rituals.
In line with annual custom, the temple authorities performed a Vighneswara puja at the Vinayaka temple near Canal Road before starting the physical work. The ceremony was led by Temple Sthanacharya Vishnubhatla Sivaprasad Sarma and was conducted at an auspicious time determined by the temple’s Vedic committee.
Temple Executive Officer V.K. Seena Naik joined the rituals and formally inaugurated the queue‑line construction by breaking a coconut, offering prayers for the smooth execution of the Dasara festivities.
Mr. Naik directed engineering officials to finish the queue lines, barricades, shelters and drinking‑water arrangements within the allotted time while upholding quality standards. He emphasized that the works should be completed without inconveniencing the lakhs of devotees expected to visit the temple during the nine‑day event, and noted that the project follows instructions from senior Endowments Department officials.
