The Madiwala police have made a breakthrough in the murder case of Bengaluru medical shop owner Suhail, arresting six people in connection with the crime. The accused, identified as Adil, a rowdy-sheeter from Bandepalya, and his associates Yasin, Abbas, Afivuallah, Shaan, and Syed Farhan, were taken into custody for their alleged roles in the killing. According to the police, Suhail was intercepted by an armed gang at the Madiwala traffic signal on Saturday night and hacked to death in full public view.
The police believe that the murder was an act of revenge for the killing of Adil’s friend Shabbir, who was murdered in the Bandepalya police station limits in January. The police suspect that Suhail had provided financial assistance for Shabbir’s murder, and that his brothers were also involved in the killing. This allegedly angered Adil, who planned Suhail’s murder as a retaliation.
Investigators also found that Suhail had threatened his friends that he would assault Adil before Adil could retaliate against him. After killing Suhail, the accused had planned to flee to Mumbai. However, the Madiwala police tracked them down and arrested all six before they could escape.
The arrested accused are currently being questioned to establish their individual roles in the murder and the sequence of events leading to the killing.
