Central University of Karnataka (CUK) Vice‑Chancellor Battu Satyanarayana flagged off a 43‑member delegation from Karnataka on Saturday for a week‑long educational and cultural visit to Madhya Pradesh under the Yuva Sangam Phase VII programme. The group includes 40 students from across the state and three faculty members. The trip, scheduled from 10 to 17 October, is organised by CUK in partnership with the Ministry of Education’s ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative and will be hosted by the School of Planning and Architecture in Bhopal.
The itinerary begins on 11 October with visits to Upper Lake, the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly and Bharat Bhavan. The following day the delegation tours the UNESCO‑listed Sanchi Stupa and the Raj Bhavan in Bhopal.
On 13 October students explore Bhopal’s Old City, the Tribal Museum, the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited. The next day they visit the Bhojeshwar Temple and the Bhimbetka Rock Shelters.
The 15th is reserved for a trip to Indore, where the group sees the Rajwada Palace and other historic sites. A special highlight is a Gond art workshop led by Padma awardee Durga Bai Vyam. The programme concludes with a valedictory ceremony and cultural programme at SPA Bhopal on 16 October, after which the delegation returns to Karnataka on 17 October.
CUK’s participation follows a reciprocal exchange that saw a 51‑member Madhya Pradesh delegation visit Bengaluru, Bidar and Kalaburagi from 28 September to 3 October. The Yuva Sangam initiative aims to strengthen ties among young people from different states by allowing them to experience each other’s traditions, institutions and development achievements.
