Abhay Patil, MLA from Belagavi dakshin, was among the six people injured in a road accident in New Delhi on Sunday night. The incident occurred near the PWD office under the jurisdiction of I.P. Estate police station in central Delhi.
According to reports, a hatchback car hit a divider, crossed the other railing, and collided with the SUV in which Mr. Patil was travelling in the opposite direction. Mr. Patil was accompanied by Anil Jha, MLA from Kirari assembly constituency in Delhi. The hatchback car was carrying Ashutosh Pandey, 32, his wife, and two children.
Police and fire brigade personnel quickly responded to the scene and carried out rescue operations. The injured were immediately admitted to Loknayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, all those injured in the accident suffered minor injuries, and their health is stable.
The police have inspected the accident site and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the incident. The Delhi police have released a statement confirming the incident and the ongoing investigation.
