A 50-year-old man was allegedly killed by his daughter and her lover in Ramwapur Tiwari village, Uttar Pradesh, after he opposed their relationship. According to police, the incident occurred on Friday. The victim, identified as Krishna, was attacked with a sickle after he confronted his daughter and her lover near a canal.
Krishna had been trying to arrange his daughter’s marriage elsewhere, but she was in a relationship with the accused, police said. Krishna’s brother, Kashiram, lodged a complaint stating that Krishna had seen his daughter with her lover and began hitting them with a stick. The duo allegedly snatched the stick and attacked Krishna several times, leaving him seriously injured.
They then left him unconscious at the spot and returned to their homes. Krishna’s family members began searching for him when he did not return home late at night and subsequently learned about the incident. An FIR has been registered at Dubaulia police station based on Kashiram’s complaint.
Superintendent of Police, Basti, Yashveer Singh stated that the preliminary investigation indicated the murder was linked to the love affair. Both the accused, Krishna’s daughter and her lover, have been arrested and a case has been registered under relevant sections.
