In anticipation of the upcoming Eid Milad, St. Mary’s Feast, and Ganesh Festival, the Bengaluru East Division police held a coordination and peace meeting on Saturday to ensure the festivals are celebrated without a hitch and with minimal disruption to the public.
The meeting, which took place at Jalsa Banquet Hall in Pulakeshinagar, was attended by over 250 people, including members of the Eid Milad Committee, St. Mary’s Basilica Feast Committee, and various Ganeshotsava committees, as well as religious leaders, public representatives, and members of the public. The Police Commissioner and senior officials from civic bodies were also in attendance.
Eid Milad is scheduled to take place on August 26, followed by St. Mary’s Feast from August 29, the car festival on September 8, and the Ganesha festival on September 14. To ensure the smooth execution of these events, the police and officials discussed arrangements to promote mutual respect, brotherhood, and communal harmony.
The officials emphasized the importance of taking adequate precautionary measures to prevent untoward incidents, maintain law and order, and minimize inconvenience to the public. Representatives of different religious communities assured the police of their cooperation in maintaining peace and social unity.
The police appealed to citizens to remain vigilant and immediately alert the authorities about any suspicious activity or incident. They also urged citizens not to believe or spread rumors, promoting a sense of unity and cooperation during the festive season.
