Sk. Sadhik Khan, the 26-year-old founder of PRO Rifle Shooting Academy, has been arrested in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, in connection with the alleged death pact of a family in Andhra Pradesh. According to high-placed sources associated with the investigation, Mr. Sadhik Khan was taken into custody on Friday night and is likely to be produced before the media on Sunday.
The arrest comes after a week-long search operation involving seven teams, led by Eluru Range Inspector General of Police G.V.G. Ashok Kumar. Mr. Sadhik Khan is accused of harassing the daughter of Panchayat Raj Department Assistant Engineer K.
Nooka Raju and threatening his family, which allegedly drove them to end their lives. On August 16, the bodies of Mr. Nooka Raju, his wife Meena, daughter Soujanya, and grandson were found in Rajamahendravaram city. A note left behind by Mr. Nooka Raju accused Mr. Sadhik Khan of being responsible for the family’s death.
The Sarpavaram police subsequently registered a case against Mr. Sadhik Khan for abetment and forcing the family to end their lives, with multiple cases booked against him under various sections. Authorities have urged those in distress or having suicidal tendencies to seek help and counseling by calling the designated helpline number.
