The Telangana government has extended the deadline to apply for affordable flats in Hyderabad (CURE) under the Indiramma Houses scheme to August 15, 2026. The earlier deadline was August 10, 2026, but it was extended by five days due to a series of holidays. Housing and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced the extension, despite initially stating that the deadline would not be extended.
The extension has resulted in a surge in applications, with nearly 11,000 applications received on Sunday and Monday. As of Monday evening, the total number of applications had risen to 46,121, up from 35,125 on Saturday evening. The Minister has directed officials to complete the allotment of houses by the end of the month, emphasizing that there should be no delays in scrutiny of applications and other processes.
The government had announced plans to build 7,680 flats in housing towers across 16 Assembly constituencies in the first phase of its agenda to construct one lakh houses in Hyderabad (Core Urban Region). The flats will be sold at a subsidized rate, with beneficiaries required to pay ₹6 lakh in four installments. Each flat will have a built-up area of 528 square feet, with a carpet area of 400 square feet. The applications were received from July 21, 2026, through MeeSeva Centres, the website, or a dedicated WhatsApp number.
The highest number of applications was received from Kukatpally, with 6,615 applicants, followed by Quthbullapur with 5,571 and Khairatabad with 5,518. The government aims to provide affordable housing to eligible beneficiaries, with a subsidy of ₹5 lakh for each flat. The allotment process is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
