Commercial LPG prices reduced by ₹200, ATF prices hiked

In a move that is expected to provide relief to commercial and industrial consumers, oil-marketing companies have reduced the prices of commercial liquified petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders by about ₹200 per cylinder across the country. This is the second downward revision in the price of commercial LPG since the probable easing of the conflict in West Asia.

The price reduction has resulted in the non-domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi now costing ₹192 lower at ₹2,738 per cylinder. In Mumbai, the price of non-domestic LPG has fallen by ₹194 per cylinder to ₹2,691.5 per cylinder. Chennai has seen a decline of ₹200 per cylinder, with the price now at ₹2,906 per cylinder. Kolkata has observed the steepest fall of ₹209 for every 19-kg cylinder, with the price now at ₹2,872.5 per cylinder.

The price of 5-kg free trade LPG cylinders, primarily catering to migrant workers, has also declined by about ₹46 per cylinder. The 5 kg FTL cylinder has become ₹46.5 cheaper at ₹762 per cylinder in the national capital. However, the price of domestic LPG remains unchanged. On the other hand, the price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF), or jet fuel, has been increased by ₹5 per litre to ₹115 per litre for domestic scheduled carriers.

This is the second decline in the price of commercial LPG since the West Asia crisis. With the latest revision, the price of the 19-kg cylinder meant for commercial and industrial consumers has declined by about ₹380 per cylinder across two tranches. Prior to this, prices of commercial LPG cylinder were hiked by about ₹1,345 per refill across four tranches since March 7.

The price of FTL has also cumulatively been reduced by about ₹60 per cylinder across the two tranches. The reduction in the price of commercial LPG is expected to provide relief to consumers, especially in the commercial and industrial sectors.
