In Belagavi district, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan reported that up to 30% of the public grievance applications submitted in Praja Seva sessions have been resolved. During the first district-level session in Yaragatti, roughly 250 petitions were received, and a third of them had been cleared. The second session, held on October 5 in Khanapur, attracted about 200 new applications. Roshan said the remaining cases would be forwarded to the relevant officers with clear instructions for swift resolution.
The Deputy Commissioner highlighted that most complaints concerned the Forest Department, Public Works Department, Revenue Department, and issues such as allocation of cremation grounds and construction of school buildings. He assured that grievances would be examined on a priority basis and that necessary steps would be taken in accordance with established rules. Roshan also issued directions to expedite the review of pending applications through the concerned departments.
Karnataka Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi stressed that the government had established a new public grievance department and launched the Praja Seva Andolana in campaign mode to address problems at the local level. He urged officials to resolve issues promptly, especially those that could be handled without escalation. Jarkiholi warned that a failure to provide on‑the‑spot solutions would make the initiative appear merely ceremonial.
The session was attended by a wide array of officials, including MLA Vithal Halagekar, MLC Channaraj Hattiholi, Deputy Conservator of Forests Kranti N., Additional DC Vijayakumar Honakeri, Assistant Commissioner Shravan Nayak, NWKRTC Vice‑Chairperson Sunil Hanumannavar, District Guarantee Schemes Authority President Vinay Navalagatti, Superintendent of Police K. Ramarajan, Zilla Panchayat Deputy Secretary Basavaraj Hegganayak, Zilla Panchayat Project Director Ravindra Bangarappanavar, Tahsildar Dundappa Komar, Joint Director of Agriculture H.D. Kolekar, District Urban Development Cell Project Director Mallikarjun Kaladagi, and Deputy Director of the Women and Child Development Department Chetan Kumar. Their presence underscored the commitment to ensuring that public grievances are addressed efficiently and transparently at the grassroots level.
