The 17th Pension Adalat will convene on Monday in New Delhi to address 897 long‑pending grievances filed by super‑senior pensioners and family pensioners. The session is chaired by Minister of State for Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare, Dr Jitendra Singh, and aims to provide on‑the‑spot redressal for the complaints.
The grievances involve 24 ministries and departments and were submitted through the CPENGRAMS portal. They are scheduled for review at the T.N. Chaturvedi Memorial Hall, IIPA, where the Adalat will operate.
Complainants and their relatives from across the country will attend the proceedings via a hybrid format, allowing participants to join either in person or through video conferencing.
During the session, the minister will unveil flyers showcasing the success stories from the 16th Pension Adalat held on 13 May, and will distribute a booklet of frequently asked questions for family pensioners.
Pension Adalats, initiated by the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare in 2017, offer an alternative to costly court procedures. With a 71.79% success rate, the first 16 editions resolved 20,676 of 28,797 grievances on the spot, while remaining cases were later addressed through inter‑ministerial review meetings.
