Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) organised a two‑wheeler rally in Nagaland on Saturday, September 26, as part of the nationwide commemoration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life.
The event began with a gathering at the 4th Mile Agri Expo before the participants rode to Showuba, where the rally was officially flagged off by Minister for PHED and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi. It finished at Samagooting Stadium in Chümoukedima.
Addressing the crowd, Zhimomi thanked the riders for joining the programme that crossed political boundaries. He noted that the country was observing Modi’s 25‑year milestone with various events across districts, and highlighted the significant governance changes since 2014. He spoke of policies guided by the principle of “Antyodaya” that aim to bring development benefits to the last person and the remotest village, and mentioned India’s progress in poverty reduction, which has attracted international study.
Zhimomi called for unity, trust and respect among citizens, stressing that the state belongs to every Naga and that discrimination must be eliminated. He urged respect for both incumbent and former leaders and emphasized the need for social harmony and collective effort for the welfare of the people.
He further explained that the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan promotes cooperation beyond party lines, and that BJP’s 12 legislators in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly represent the Nagas. He urged the application of the “best minds” to build a peaceful, progressive and prosperous state and to contribute to the national goal of “Viksit Bharat 2047.” Around 40 to 50 two‑wheelers took part in the rally.
