A group of students from Nagaland has begun a 10‑day Seema Darshan tour organised by the Assam Rifles under the Army’s Spear Corps as part of Operation Sadbhavna, an initiative that exposes youth from remote regions to India’s cultural diversity and strategic frontier areas.
The delegation, consisting of 20 students and two teachers from the Government Higher Secondary School in Rusoma, Kohima, will travel to Guwahati, Tenga, Tawang and Tezpur before returning to Kohima on September 28. The tour aims to give the participants first‑hand insight into the country’s rich diversity, frontier regions and the role of security forces in safeguarding the nation. Participants will also interact with defence personnel and learn about their duties.
Both Tenga and Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh are key points in the defence of India’s northern border, while Tezpur in Assam hosts the headquarters of the Army’s IV Corps and an Indian Air Force fighter base that operates frontline aircraft such as the Su‑30 MKI. This is the second Seema Darshan tour for Nagaland students this year.
Earlier in March, a similar tour carried 20 students and three teachers from Bhandari in Wokha district to Guwahati and Kolkata to visit educational institutions and historical landmarks. In 2025, students from Yangphi in Kiphire district visited Delhi and Agra, touring sites like the Red Fort, Taj Mahal and the National War Museum. The current trip will also feature interactions with senior military officers and community leaders to foster national integration and empower the youth.
