On Thursday, September 10, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma announced the opening of the Block Integrated Development Complex for the Rongara Community and Rural Development Block in South Garo Hill district. The ceremony underscored the state’s pledge to accelerate development in rural and border areas and to bring governance closer to residents.
The new complex is designed to strengthen administrative infrastructure and improve the delivery of government services to the local population. Sangma highlighted that the building would serve as a central hub for residents seeking assistance with their concerns.
During the event, the Chief Minister praised Siju Rongara MLA Rakkam A. Sangma for his dedication to the constituency. He noted that the new facility reflects the MLA’s vision and sincere efforts toward the area’s development.
Sangma urged C&RD Block officials and staff to remain committed to public service, emphasizing the importance of listening patiently to visitors and addressing their grievances. He also noted that over the past three years, the state government has upgraded major infrastructure. All 56 C&RD Blocks in Meghalaya have either been renovated or provided with new buildings, creating better working conditions for officials and improved services for the public.
