The South West Garo Hills district administration has rolled out a new standard operating procedure (SOP) for issuing income certificates. The move aims to streamline the process and ensure consistency across departments.
Under the SOP, applicants must submit the required documents, including an affidavit, and follow a set sequence of steps. The certificate is issued after verification and approval by the designated officials.
Key officials involved in the issuance include the District Agriculture Officer, the Superintendent of Taxes, the DCIC General Manager, the District Labour Commissioner, the District AH & Veterinary Officer, the District Horticulture Officer, and the Fisheries Superintendent. Each plays a specific role in reviewing and approving the application.
For pension recipients, the pension payment order and an affidavit are required, and the Treasury Officer issues the final certificate. The SOP also outlines the procedures for calculating the income amount and ensuring accurate records.
The district has emphasized that all departments must adhere to the SOP to maintain transparency and efficiency. Officials have been briefed on the new guidelines and are expected to implement them promptly.
