A crucial meeting was held between the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) and the Nagaland state Cabinet at the Chief Minister’s official residence in Kohima on Tuesday. The meeting focused on the implementation of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA), which was signed on February 5, 2026. According to sources, the meeting was cordial and constructive, with the Cabinet reaffirming its commitment to upholding the spirit and provisions of the MoA.
This development is seen as a significant step forward in the implementation of the agreement. The FNTA Bill, which was tabled in the Assembly earlier this year, is expected to be cleared during the upcoming session of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, scheduled to commence on September 1, 2026. The meeting between the ENPO leadership and the state Cabinet is considered an important milestone in taking forward the commitments made under the February 5 MoA.
