The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has called upon government departments, public institutions, and offices within Dimapur to enforce regular attendance and strict adherence to prescribed official working hours. This appeal comes after the union received public feedback regarding delayed attendance, early departure, and unavailability of officials during working hours.
According to the DNSU, the lack of punctuality and accountability among officials has resulted in delayed delivery of public services, causing inconvenience to citizens, students, and visitors. In an effort to address this issue, the union will conduct periodic visits to government offices, educational institutions, and other public establishments within its jurisdiction to assess their functioning and gather public feedback.
The DNSU has requested heads of departments and staff to remain available at their designated stations during official hours and observe prescribed attendance procedures. The union has also urged officials to properly communicate instances of official leave, field duty, or other authorized absences and maintain professionalism, accountability, and courtesy in dealings with the public.
During its visits, the DNSU will identify areas of concern and communicate them to the concerned authorities for necessary consideration. The union believes that constructive cooperation will help strengthen administration and confidence, and has appealed to all departments and institutions to extend cooperation in the larger public interest.
