A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between NEATEHUB, the agribusiness incubator of Assam Agricultural University, and the Assam Innovation and Startup Foundation (AISF) to strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship in agriculture, agritech, and allied sectors.
The MoU was signed on August 24 at the Assam Startup office in Guwahati by Partha Borthakur, CEO (i/c) and COO, NEATEHUB, and Dr Nayanjyoti Goswami, Managing Director and CEO, AISF. As part of the partnership, NEATEHUB’s Guwahati office will operate from the Assam Startup – The Nest co-working space at Ambari, bringing the incubator closer to startups, mentors, investors, and industry partners within the state’s startup ecosystem.
The partnership will combine NEATEHUB’s agricultural research linkages and incubation experience with AISF’s mentorship, acceleration, investor, and market networks. The two organisations will jointly run programmes for agritech startups covering capacity building, investment readiness, and market access. They will focus on identifying and nurturing startups in agriculture, agritech, and allied sectors, providing mentorship, incubation, and acceleration support.
The collaboration will facilitate the commercialisation and adoption of agricultural technologies, and connect startups with investors, industry experts, markets, and funding opportunities. The organisations will also undertake joint startup programmes, workshops, outreach, and capacity-building activities, using agricultural research and sectoral expertise to support commercially viable enterprises and strengthen Assam’s agricultural entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The partnership is part of AISF’s broader effort to work with incubators across Assam, with NEATEHUB among the first higher-education-based incubators to partner under the initiative. Through the collaboration, NEATEHUB and AISF will work towards strengthening innovation, enterprise development, and employment opportunities across Assam’s agricultural sector.
