The Central University of Rajasthan has taken a significant step towards expanding access to higher education by establishing its first learner support centre in Jaipur. The centre, set up at Kanoria P.G. Women’s College, aims to promote open and distance learning (ODL) and online modes for six academic programmes.
This initiative will provide learners with academic support and enable them to pursue higher education from anywhere. The university, headquartered at Bandar Sindri in Ajmer district, has been making strides in the field of research and academics. Recently, it secured the 79th position in the Nature Index 2026 Research Leaders ranking, solidifying its position among India’s top 100 institutions.
The establishment of the learner support centre is a testament to the university’s commitment to making higher education more accessible and inclusive. A memorandum of understanding was signed between Central University of Rajasthan’s Registrar Amardeep Sharma and Kanoria P.G. Women’s College Principal Seema Agrawal, formally recognising the college as the first centre for ODL and online courses.
Vice-Chancellor Anand Bhalerao expressed his vision for the university, stating that the new centre would help expand the university’s academic footprint and make higher education accessible to every learner, anywhere. The proposal for establishing the centre in Jaipur was approved after a three-member committee assessed the college’s infrastructure and academic resources. The centre will enable learners to pursue ODL and online courses simultaneously with regular academic programmes, making it an ideal opportunity for working professionals.
According to Prof. Bhalerao, the ODL and online courses are also ideally suited for working professionals.
