Fresh allegations have emerged of Chinese incursions in the Taksing circle of Upper Subansiri district in Arunachal Pradesh, with locals claiming that Chinese forces have intruded into Pukar La and Ollo. According to the claims, Chinese forces crossed the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and entered Indian territory at Pukar La and Ollo in Taksing circle.
The district administration and the security establishment have not commented on the alleged incursions, but locals have taken to social media to claim that such incursions are indeed taking place. Nah Welfare Society (NWS) chairman Keru Chader has also spoken out, claiming that the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is closing in on villages in the area.
Chader stated that Pukar La is located near Yaja village, while Togo village is near Ollo, and that the PLA is now literally at the doorstep of these villages. He claimed that the PLA entered these two areas within the last one month. This is not the first time such allegations have been made - in June this year, the NWS made similar claims, alleging that the Chinese PLA was encroaching on Indian territory near Taksing in Upper Subansiri district.
The NWS alleged that the PLA was expanding its presence by occupying new and strategically important areas of Indian territory along the border. The society claimed that areas such as Oying, Paniar, Marpan, Portrang, and Tingdingtang - all located close to Taksing - had been captured by the PLA, where it had established a military camp. The society also claimed that some of these areas had been under Indian control before 2020.
However, the Indian army dismissed the allegations. Despite this, the NWS has continued to make such claims, maintaining that the government is not telling the truth.
