Noklak to Begin Electoral Roll Revision on Aug 16

The Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer (DEO) Noklak has announced the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of Electoral Roll, as per the directions of the Election Commission of India (ECI). The revision process is set to begin on August 16, with October 1, 2026 as the qualifying date.

As part of the revision process, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct house to house visits under their respective polling stations from August 16 to September 14, 2026. During these visits, BLOs will distribute Enumeration Forms with pre printed details of existing electors. Electors are advised to keep a current passport size photograph ready to facilitate verification.

The Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) will prepare and publish the draft electoral roll on September 20, 2026. This draft roll will consist of names of electors who have submitted duly filled forms during the enumeration period. The period for claims and objections will be from September 20 to October 20, 2026. Additionally, the notice phase and disposal of claims and objections will take place between September 20 and November 18, 2026.

Electors with discrepancies or without proper linkage to the electoral roll of the last intensive revision may be required to appear before the ERO/AERO with requisite documents prescribed by the ECI. The DC Noklak has emphasized that the SIR exercise is aimed at ensuring that no eligible citizen is left out and no ineligible person is included in the electoral roll.

The DC Noklak has directed all Administrative Officers, Ward Authorities, Village Councils, and Booth Level Agents to extend full cooperation to BLOs during the verification exercise. They have also been asked to ensure wide publicity of the programme and advise residents to remain available during house to house visits.

The successful conduct of the SIR exercise relies on the assistance of all concerned parties. DC Noklak has urged everyone to render their assistance to ensure that the revision process is carried out smoothly and efficiently.
