Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav attended the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan programme at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Nagaland, Chümoukedima, on Saturday. During the event, he urged students to take a leading role in the fight against substance abuse. The programme is part of the Government of India’s 100-week nationwide campaign against drug abuse, aimed at mobilising youth, educational institutions, and communities to build a drug-free and developed India.
The Governor visited a poster exhibition featuring awareness campaigns and creative exhibits prepared by students under the campaign. He appreciated their creativity and commitment, encouraging the students to become ambassadors of the movement and spread the message of a drug-free future within their communities. The Governor also joined the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address launching the 100-week Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan, where the Prime Minister called upon the country’s youth to spearhead the movement against drug abuse and contribute towards building a Viksit Bharat.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by NIT Nagaland registrar Dr. Manoj E. Prabhakar. Faculty members, students, staff, and officials of NIT Nagaland participated in the programme, reaffirming their commitment to supporting the nationwide anti-drug campaign and promoting a healthier, addiction-free society through sustained awareness and youth-led initiatives.
