A 56-year-old woman was found dead in a pool of blood in her room at the India Hotel in Sessa, Bhalukpong subdivision of West Kameng district on Friday morning. The Bhalukpong police station received a written complaint from Akash Tamang, stating that his mother, Chini Maya Tamang, was found dead in her room. According to the police, the incident is suspected to have occurred between 12:30 am and 5 am on Friday.
The hotel maid, who was sleeping in another room, discovered the body when she went to wake up the woman in the morning. The maid found Chini Maya Tamang lying in a pool of blood, with all her valuables, including a gold chain, rings, and a bracelet, missing. A steel almirah in the room was also found broken, indicating the possibility of theft associated with the crime.
Consequently, a case was registered under Sections 331 (4), 305 (A) and 103 (1) of the BNS, and the investigation was taken up by Inspector T Dorjee. The Bhalukpong police, along with a forensic science laboratory team from Bomdila, visited the scene of the crime to investigate and collect evidence. The police stated that the case is at the initial stage of investigation.
