Representatives of the Unified Zou Organisation, Zomi Chief Association, and the Zomi Council met with Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Imphal on Friday. The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Chief Minister and MLA Tongbram Robindro. During the meeting, the representatives discussed various state issues and assured their support for the government’s efforts to restore lasting peace and normalcy in Manipur.
The delegation also deliberated on initiatives to strengthen mutual trust and understanding among different communities and submitted a proposal for the construction of a Multi-Utility Hall at Churachandpur. This visit marks the first time representatives of the three organisations have travelled together from Churachandpur to Imphal to meet the Chief Minister, reflecting the improving law and order situation and the gradual restoration of free movement between different communities. According to Chairman of the Zomi Council, Vumsuan Naulak, the delegation’s meeting with the Chief Minister was cordial and constructive.
He expressed gratitude to the state government for creating opportunities for people to work together for development and lasting peace. Naulak also hoped that peace would soon return to Manipur, allowing people from all communities to interact freely and work collectively towards the state’s progress. Secretary of the Zomi Council, Mary Jones, expressed happiness over the positive change, describing it as an encouraging sign for the restoration of normalcy.
The Chief Minister assured the 14-member delegation that the government remains committed to promoting peace, fostering harmony among all communities, and creating an environment conducive to normal life. The government will continue to engage with all stakeholders to achieve a peaceful, inclusive, and lasting resolution to the prevailing situation. The delegation included P.

Social Worker Joseph Valte, son of Late MLA Vungzagin Valte, said that they are looking forward to the return of peace and prosperity in the state.
