The National People’s Party (NPP) has appointed A. Nyamnyei Konyak, MLA, as the leader of NPP Legislature Party in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), effective immediately. This decision was made by NPP president Conrad K.
Sangma, who exercised the powers vested in the national president under the party’s Constitution. The appointment aims to strengthen the party’s legislative wing in the Assembly. Consequently, Nuklutoshi has been relieved of his responsibility as the leader of NPP Legislature Party, also with immediate effect.
Nyamnyei Konyak will receive full cooperation from all concerned authorities, office bearers, and party members in the discharge of his responsibilities. In a related development, Sangma has constituted an interim state committee for the Nagaland unit to ensure the smooth functioning of the party. This move comes as the party awaits the appointment of a new state president through the prescribed organisational process.
The interim committee comprises Chuba Jamir, James Vizo, Audrey Jamir, Eje Wangnyu Konyak, and Er. H. Khumtimong Sangtam of the National People’s Youth Front (NPYF).
The interim committee will assist the national working president and the national committee, carrying out responsibilities assigned by the party leadership from time to time. The committee will function until a new state president is appointed and will discharge its duties in consultation with the national working president and the national president.
