Tsiituonuomia Khel (T.Khel), Kohima Village, recently organised its 9th Literary Day cum Felicitation Programme at the T.Khel Indoor Stadium, with the theme ‘Imprints of Imagination.’ The event was attended by various dignitaries and featured several performances and competitions.
Dr. Tseilhoutuo (Ato), MLA of 9th Kohima Town, addressed the valedictory session, sharing his personal journey and struggles while growing up. He stressed the importance of dedication and commitment for success, encouraging students to cultivate curiosity and genuine interest in their studies. He also cautioned against the misuse of technology and artificial intelligence, urging proper use and advising perseverance, kindness, and extending help to those in need.
In the inaugural address, Er. Sedevilie Suohu, Executive Engineer PHED, highlighted the importance of respecting and obeying parents, noting their sacrifices and guidance. The presidential address was delivered by Mezhükhriezo Zatsu, president TSU, while Vilhou Sekhose, vice president TSU, delivered the welcome address. Zakie Suohu of T.Khel Council commended students for their achievements, encouraging them to pursue education diligently and strive for self-employment or meaningful careers.
The event featured special performances by Ledilhounuo Sekhose and cultural troupes. Competitions were held in various categories, including essay writing, painting, elocution, solo singing, spelling bee, creative writing, debate, instrumental solo, extempore, and quiz. The winners will represent T.Khel at Kohima Village’s flagship literary event ‘Spero Meliora’ scheduled for August 8.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Keneipthelie Phewhuo, General Secretary TSU. Blessings were pronounced by Rev. Kevimese Suhu, pastor Nagabazar Baptist Church, and Rev. Atuo Whuorie, pastor Baptist Mission Church.
