The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) East Siang zilla organised a ‘Prabuddha nagarik sanghoshti’ (intellectuals’ meet) at the auditorium of the College of Agriculture in Pasighat on Saturday. The event brought together over 50 prominent intellectuals from across East Siang district, including professors, doctors, engineers, teachers, government officers, and young entrepreneurs. The meet provided a platform for meaningful dialogue and exchange of ideas on issues of social and national importance.
Distinguished speakers prant pracharak Kamlesh Kumar and prant sampark pramukh Dr Kaling Jerang addressed the gathering, elaborating on the history, philosophy, and organisational journey of the RSS. They highlighted the organisation’s contributions to nation-building, social service, character development, disaster relief, education, and cultural preservation. The speakers also explained ‘panch parivartan’ – the five-point social transformation roadmap introduced by the RSS for its centenary.
This vision aims to foster social harmony, strengthen family values, promote environmental consciousness, encourage civic responsibility, and nurture a sense of national pride and cultural rootedness. The participants were urged to contribute actively towards these ideals through individual and collective efforts. An interactive session followed, with active participation from intellectuals representing diverse professions and backgrounds.
Discussions were held on various contemporary and social issues, including the opportunities and challenges posed by artificial intelligence, sustainable farming practices, preservation of indigenous languages and customs, promotion of indigenous faith, education, youth development, and the role of intellectuals in shaping a strong and self-reliant nation. The participants appreciated the open and constructive exchange of ideas, emphasising the need for continued dialogue on issues concerning society and national development. The programme was coordinated by zilla sampark pramukh Enuk Libang.
