A multi-storey parking lot was inaugurated in Aalo on Saturday by Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Kento Jini. The inauguration ceremony was attended by West Siang Deputy Commissioner Mindo Loyi, SP Kardak Riba, and ZPC Nyali Bagra.
The parking lot, constructed by the Department of Urban Affairs, has the capacity to accommodate 40 light motor vehicles in each storey. According to Executive Engineer Helli Welly, the current capacity is for 80 cars, with the foundation structure designed for a G+5 building. The total cost of construction was Rs 488.9 lakh.
During the inauguration, Deputy Commissioner Mindo Loyi appealed to the public to maintain the cleanliness of the building, while ZPC Nyali Bagra urged the public to use the facility purposefully. Minister Kento Jini commended the Urban Development Department and the contractor for completing the project on time and ensuring quality work.
Jini also informed that construction of several more parking lots is planned for the Aalo township. He further requested the DC and SP to remove all unused vehicles and building materials from the national highway within the township and its periphery areas. Additionally, he asked the DC to cancel all proposed land allotments near the IB and the SBI along the national highway.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by HoDs, administrative officers, ZPMs, and members of the public.
