Governor KT Parnaik has extended Kargil Vijay Diwas greetings to the people of Arunachal Pradesh, while paying tributes to the brave soldiers of the Indian armed forces who safeguarded the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The governor reflected on the significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas, observed annually on 26 July, which commemorates India’s historic victory in the 1999 Kargil War. The war was fought over 83 arduous days on some of the world’s highest and most challenging battlefields. Governor Parnaik praised the soldiers’ unmatched bravery, determination, and professionalism in the face of extreme weather, steep terrains, and hostile conditions.
Governor Parnaik stated that the victory in the Kargil War was not merely a military triumph but a testament to India’s resilience, unity, and spirit. He noted that the courage displayed by the Kargil heroes continues to inspire generations of Indians to prioritize the nation above all else.
On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the governor joined the people of Arunachal Pradesh in paying their deepest respects to the martyrs and veterans of the Kargil War. He expressed his hope that their legacy would inspire the people to uphold the values of patriotism, national unity, duty, and sacrifice, ultimately contributing to a strong, secure, and prosperous India.
