In a significant crackdown on illicit substance trafficking, the Bhalukpong police in West Kameng district seized a substantial quantity of suspected cannabis on Friday. Acting under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Dr DW Thungon and the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Mayank Dubey, the police intercepted a white Mahindra Bolero bearing the registration number AS01-GS-9497. Upon inspection, they discovered and confiscated 155.105 kilograms of suspected cannabis, with an estimated market value of approximately Rs 78,00,000.
An investigation has been launched to identify those involved in the transportation of the seized cannabis and to uncover the broader network behind the operation.
