Tawang Deputy Commissioner Namgyal Angmo has directed all heads of departments and field-level officials to remain stationed at their respective headquarters, emphasizing the importance of their availability and accountability in the effective implementation of government schemes and programmes.
During a review of the ongoing developmental works in the district, the DC instructed all departments to include comparative photographs of both ongoing works and completed milestones in their future presentations. This, she said, would facilitate an objective assessment of progress, as monthly review meetings serve little purpose if there is no visible physical progress on the ground.
The DC also highlighted the importance of sustainable development, enquiring whether plastic waste is being utilized in road metalling works wherever feasible. She encouraged work departments to explore environmentally sustainable construction practices, and expressed concern over delays in project execution, instructing all executive engineers to issue notices to contractors responsible for slow progress.
To ensure timely completion of works, the DC stressed the need to accelerate the implementation of projects under the Vibrant Villages Programme, considering their strategic importance for border area development. She further encouraged departments to proactively raise issues and bottlenecks affecting project implementation, so that timely interventions could be made.
The DC directed that future presentations should be comprehensive, covering project-wise physical and financial progress, target completion dates, challenges faced, and proposed solutions. Zilla Parishad Chairperson Leki Gombu also urged all departments to expedite ongoing developmental works while ensuring quality.
The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to strengthen inter-departmental coordination, enhance monitoring mechanisms, and ensure timely and quality execution of developmental projects across Tawang district.
