The All Arunachal Pradesh Youth Organisation (AAPYO) has submitted a memorandum to the governor, calling for an urgent review of the Patra Committee report dated 15 April, 2026. The organisation is also demanding the immediate framing of criminal chargesheets against two suspended NERIST officials, Mai Kuru Camder alias Mai Ranjit Camder and Doge Kamduk. The AAPYO is seeking an extension of the suspension of the two officials under Rule 3 (2) of the CCS (Conduct) Rules, 1964, including Rule 3 (2) (i), Rule 3 (2) (ii), and Rule 3 (2) (iii), pending further disciplinary and legal proceedings.
The two officials were suspended on 29 May by the disciplinary authority while serving as registrar and assistant registrar at the NERIST. According to the AAPYO, the officials were suspended on grounds of being prima facie involved in offences of moral turpitude. These offences include negligence of duty causing considerable loss to the government, desertion of duty, refusal or deliberate failure to carry out written orders of superior officers, wilful tampering and forgery of recruitment rules of the NERIST, corruption, misappropriation of public money, possession of disproportionate assets, and misuse of official powers.
The organisation also accused the officials of using outside student and youth organisations to disrupt the NERIST administration and protest against its director on 20 June. The AAPYO stated that the memorandum represents the collective voice of all stakeholders of the NERIST, including students, faculty members, research scholars, land donors, and the general public.
