A delegation of the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) met with Ajit Lal, Advisor (North East) to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), in New Delhi on Thursday, urging the Centre to expedite the ongoing Naga peace process. The delegation briefed Lal on the prevailing situation of violence and unrest in the region, particularly the Naga-Kuki conflict, stressing the urgent need for the immediate restoration of peace and normalcy. The NSF appealed to the MHA advisor to carry forward the ongoing peace talks with sincerity and steer them towards an early and logical conclusion while remaining sensitive to the aspirations and concerns of the Naga people.
According to the NSF, the meeting reaffirmed the collective demand for a political resolution to the decades-old Naga issue. Lal assured the delegation that the matter would be looked into.
