The Namsai District Library, under the aegis of the district administration, recently hosted a mass library awareness programme as part of the National Reading Month celebrations. The event aimed to foster a love for reading and promote literary awareness among students in the district. A series of competitions, including quizzes, storytelling sessions, essay writing, and drawing, were held as part of the programme, drawing participation from students across various schools in the district.
These events provided a platform for students to showcase their knowledge, creativity, communication skills, and artistic talents. The programme was attended by retired IAS officer Tape Bagra, Namsai ADC N.K Namchoom, and other officials, who appreciated the initiative to promote a reading culture and lifelong learning among the younger generation. The winners of the competitions will be felicitated during an award ceremony scheduled to take place on 18 July at the district library.
