Manipur’s Ukhrul district has seen significant developments in the investigation into the recent ambush on security forces. At least three individuals have been detained in connection with the incident, according to police reports on Tuesday.
The detentions were made possible through an intelligence-based operation launched in the TM Kasom, Litan, and Sikibung areas. This operation aimed to apprehend those allegedly involved in the ambush on security personnel that took place in Ukhrul district on July 6, 2026.
As a result of the operation, three persons were detained. However, police have chosen not to disclose their identities at this time and have not provided further details on the progress of the investigation.
Despite the recent incident, normalcy continues to prevail in the region. Farming activities are proceeding unhindered, shops remain open, and regulated traffic movement along National Highway-202 is proceeding as scheduled.
