The Hapoli forest division recently commemorated the 77th Van Mahotsav, marking a significant milestone in its ongoing mission to bolster environmental conservation and reforestation efforts across Lower Subansiri district. The celebration was part of a broader effort to protect and expand the region’s green cover, and it brought together local stakeholders, public representatives, village community leaders, and students in a shared mission to achieve this goal. The event, which spanned multiple forest ranges, including Hapoli, Talley Valley, Boasimla, Yachuli, Tale Wildlife Sanctuary, and Raga, witnessed widespread community participation.
This enthusiastic involvement was highlighted by a spokesperson for the Hapoli forest division, who stated that the local communities are the true heart of this celebration. Throughout the duration of the Van Mahotsav, the forest division organised a series of tree plantation drives and educational awareness programmes. These activities were designed not only to increase the forest density but also to deepen the understanding of the vital role forests play in maintaining the ecological balance of Arunachal Pradesh.
By actively engaging with village communities and the younger generation, the forest division is fostering a collective responsibility that ensures the region’s forests and biodiversity are preserved for generations to come. The success of this year’s initiative highlighted a growing commitment to sustainable development, environmental resilience, and active stewardship of the natural resources that define the region’s unique landscape. The 77th Van Mahotsav served as a testament to the strong synergy between the Forest Department and the residents of Lower Subansiri, demonstrating the power of collaborative efforts in achieving a common goal.
