Lucknow, Oct 12 – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath urged citizens to pledge to safeguard women and become a pillar of strength for their self‑reliance during a speech on Monday. The call came as he extended greetings on the occasion of Sharadiya Navratri, emphasizing that doing good is effective only when empowered by strength and determination.
In a post on X in Hindi, Adityanath wished all a happy Navratri and highlighted the festival’s message of humility, courage, and justice prevailing over ego and negative tendencies. He added that Uttar Pradesh is emerging as a centre for faith, culture, and tradition, and that women are now receiving education, security, and equal opportunities.
The chief minister cited a 9.5‑year record of zero‑tolerance policy, technology‑based surveillance, swift police action, and public awareness campaigns that have created a fearless environment for women. He noted that the women police force has grown from 10,000 to more than 44,000 with a 20 per cent reservation, and that three women PAC battalions have been established in Lucknow, Gorakhpur and Budaun.
Adityanath concluded that the state’s double‑engine government is realizing the vision of an “Empowered Women, Prosperous Uttar Pradesh” by continuously empowering women’s power with security. Jai Mata Ki.
