Diezephe Village Unveils Foundation Monolith Ahead of 50th Anniversary

On Saturday, the residents of Diezephe village in Dimapur marked a milestone by dedicating and unveiling the Village Foundation Monolith as part of preparations for the village’s 50th‑anniversary celebrations scheduled for October 29, 2026.

The ceremony, held at the Village Panchayat Hall, was attended by Thepfuneituo Rio, president of the Tenyimia Union Dimapur, who officially unveiled the monolith. A dedicatory prayer was offered by DABC pastor Kemhalhoulie Rhatsu.

During the formal program, Thepfuneituo spoke about forgiveness, retrospection and the true meaning of a jubilee. He urged villagers to reflect on the past, learn lessons, and move forward with unity and forgiveness, hoping the upcoming celebration would be meaningful for all.

Velasúzo Shijoh, convenor of the Jubilee Organising Committee, recounted the village’s origins, noting it began with 50–60 households and now houses about 450 households and 2,000 residents. He emphasized remembering the village’s beginnings and the collective effort that shaped its growth. The event was chaired by Vezota Çhzo, chairman of the Village Council, and the vote of thanks was delivered by ABC pastor T. Mar Ozcküm. The programme ended with a community feast.
