On August 6, the Paralympic Association of Arunachal (PAA) announced the admission of Beti Wallong, a promising para table tennis athlete from the Puroik community of East Kameng district, to a private school in Itanagar. The move will allow Wallong to continue her education while receiving regular sports training.
Wallong, an orphan, has demonstrated exceptional talent, determination, and potential in her sport. Recognising her abilities, the PAA has taken responsibility for her future by facilitating her enrollment at the school, where she will have access to quality education and structured training facilities to excel in para table tennis.
The PAA has pledged to cover all educational and training expenses for Wallong, reaffirming its commitment to empowering talented para athletes. By shouldering these costs, the association aims to ensure that financial or social challenges do not become barriers to her dreams.
The association expressed gratitude to PAA chairman Takam Pario for his unwavering support, visionary leadership, and continued commitment to the welfare, education, and development of para athletes across the state.
