All Commercial Vehicle Association (ACVA) in Wokha district has issued a public statement clarifying that it does not seek to restrict interstate vehicles or obstruct lawful interstate trade. The association said its concern is limited to outside or non‑local commercial activities operating within the district.
ACVA explained that its positions had been misrepresented by various authorities, organisations and the public, creating an impression that it opposed interstate vehicles. The association appealed to non‑local commercial vehicle operators who reside and conduct business in Wokha to consider giving local entrepreneurs the opportunity to ply vehicles within the district, stressing a spirit of mutual understanding, coexistence and opportunities for the younger generation.
The association reiterated that it does not oppose lawful interstate vehicles passing through Wokha, nor does it advocate unlawful blockades, intimidation, forced stoppage or harassment of vehicles or drivers. Its concern is specifically with outside commercial activities that could adversely affect legitimate local entrepreneurs or where compliance with applicable laws requires examination.
ACVA called for a lawful, fair and transparent framework that protects legitimate local economic opportunities and allows younger residents to build livelihoods without interfering with interstate movement. It stressed that its stance is not an anti‑outsider or anti‑interstate campaign but an appeal for mutual understanding, fair opportunity and lawful regulation, urging all stakeholders to understand the original communication rather than distorted representations.
