ITANAGAR, 6 Aug – A landslide at the Parsi Parlo hydroelectric power project site in Kurung Kumey district killed a worker from Assam and left another injured, officials said.
The slip, which occurred at around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, sent debris and boulders down the hill slope onto the construction site, according to the Kurung Kumey District Information and Public Relations Officer.
The deceased, identified as Nobin Doley of Dhemaji district in Assam, died on the spot. A second worker was extricated from the rubble and taken to a nearby medical facility for emergency treatment, but his identity has not yet been released.
The project management team has begun a detailed assessment of the site, and further administrative procedures are underway, the official added. The incident was reported to PTI.
