Union minister J.P. Nadda said on Monday that the Congress and its allies are attempting to vitiate the country’s atmosphere even after the election commissioners exposed their false claims about the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. He described the opposition’s efforts as an attempt to spread confusion and anarchy, noting that the parties are frustrated and despondent at the nation’s progress.
Nadda accused the INDI Alliance of devising new ways to disrupt the nation’s atmosphere, calling their modus operandi a cycle of allegations, disruption and retreat. He referenced an Indian Express report that Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi had written to the Cabinet Secretary about a work‑allocation order that could centralize powers to add or delete names from the voters’ list, thereby threatening the autonomy of state‑level officials.
He singled out Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav and former West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing them of maligning autonomous institutions, lacking concern for national security or public welfare, and pursuing dynastic politics for personal benefit. Nadda warned that repeating a lie does not make it truth.
The minister said the public has understood the double standards and that BJP views power as a tool for ‘antyodaya’—upliftment of the last person—and service to 1.40 crore citizens, not luxury. He added that the conspiracies will be shattered in the people’s court, and that India is making strides toward a ‘Viksit Bharat’ and a stronger global presence while the Congress and INDI Alliance remain frustrated with progress. All fabricated allegations, he said, have crumbled when tested against facts.
