India delivered another consignment of life‑saving medicines and medical consumables to a government hospital in Kabul on Sunday, continuing its humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan. The Ministry of External Affairs posted on X that “India’s humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan continues. Another consignment from India has reached Kabul, including life‑saving medicines and medical consumables for a government hospital in the city. Health remains at the heart of India’s humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.”
The delivery follows earlier shipments, including medicines and consumables sent on August 20, when India reaffirmed its health partnership with the Afghan people. The MEA highlighted that “Augmenting Afghanistan’s healthcare! Reaffirming its enduring health partnership with the friendly people of Afghanistan, India delivers medicines and medical consumables to a Government Hospital in Kabul.”
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal noted that India and Afghanistan share a very longstanding relationship, and that engagement has gained momentum over the past year. He recalled the elevation of India’s technical mission in Kabul to embassy status in October 2025, and that the head of the mission was designated Charge d’Affaires. Jaiswal also mentioned the Joint Secretary’s attendance at Afghanistan’s Victory Day event held at the embassy in New Delhi.
In addition to medical aid, India supplied relief materials such as food items and family tents to Afghanistan’s National Disaster Management Authority in July, supporting communities affected by devastating floods in Nuristan. Earlier in June, India sent another five tonnes of essential medicines to Kabul, reaffirming its long‑standing commitment to the welfare of the Afghan people.
