The Enforcement Directorate (ED) announced on Thursday that its search operations in the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) case uncovered evidence that senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain were holding “unofficial” meetings with officials of the Punjab government authority. The ED said a house in Sector 39 of Chandigarh, allotted to Punjab AAP leader Sunny Singh Ahluwalia, was raided on September 22 because it was being used by Jain and his office secretary for meetings with senior GMADA officials to discuss matters such as fresh auctions, acquisitions and compensation determinations.

AAP rejected the allegations as “completely false, baseless and politically motivated.” In a statement the party stressed that neither Sisodia nor Jain has any role in GMADA’s projects or day‑to‑day functioning. It noted that both men are already under investigation by the ED in separate money‑laundering cases in Delhi and that those cases are currently being argued in court.

The ED also claimed that seized phones contained chats indicating hawala payments to individuals linked to certain politicians. It further said that the reserve price for GMADA’s “unsold” land bank had been fraudulently lowered before auction, potentially costing the state exchequer about ₹10,000 crore and benefiting a builders‑politicians nexus. The agency described its initial survey at GMADA premises on Tuesday as having been expanded into a full search to seize devices and documents.

The probe focuses on the real‑estate company Tirupati Infraprojects and related entities, accused of acquiring two prime auction sites in Mohali and obtaining substantial financial relief from GMADA. In addition to the GMADA offices, the ED searched the residence of former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain in Chandigarh’s Sector 39, where he was not present, and the home of Punjab minister Hardeep Singh Mundian’s nephew in Sahnewal, Ludhiana. The search and survey operation concluded on Thursday afternoon.
